MapGEO

What the game promises, and what it does not.

Terms

Last updated September 6, 2026

The short version

MapGEO is free. Play it as much as you like. It is a small game made by a small company, so it comes with no warranty and no promise that your scores will last forever, though we will try. Do not attack it, and do not pass off the artwork as yours.

Who you are agreeing with

These terms are between you and Orchard Sky Digital Inc., a company registered in Nova Scotia, Canada. Using MapGEO means you accept them. If you do not, the remedy is to close the tab.

Accounts

You do not need an account to play, and nothing in the game is held back if you do not have one. An account exists only to save your scores and your streak across devices.

One account per person. You are responsible for the email address you sign in with. We may suspend or remove an account that is being used to abuse the service, and we will tell you why.

Acceptable use

Do not:

  • attack, overload or probe the site or its endpoints;
  • script the daily challenge, or automate play in a way that is not a person playing a game;
  • use the bug report form to send anything but bug reports;
  • copy the artwork, the puzzle content or the code into something else without permission.

The daily challenge is generated in your own browser from the date, which means a determined person can work out the answers early. We have not tried to stop that, because there is no leaderboard and nothing to win: doing it only spoils your own game. Please do not spoil anyone else's by posting answers before the day is out.

Your scores

Without an account, your scores live in your browser and nowhere else. Clearing your site data deletes them and we cannot get them back, because we never had them.

With an account we save them, and we intend to keep them. But we cannot guarantee that any score, run history or streak will be preserved. Data can be lost to a fault, a migration or an outage. Treat a streak as something to enjoy, not something to insure.

The game is provided as is

MapGEO is offered free of charge and as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not promise it will be available, correct, or free of errors. Country borders, flags and trivia are drawn from public data sets and may be out of date, disputed or simply wrong; nothing here is a statement of political position, and none of it should be relied on for anything that matters.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of MapGEO. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Whose work this is

The code, the artwork and the puzzle content are ours, except where they are not:

  • Flags come from flag-icons, used under the MIT licence.
  • Country geometry comes from Natural Earth by way of world-atlas, in the public domain and under the ISC licence respectively.

Ending it

You can stop using MapGEO at any time, and you can delete your account from your account page whenever you like. We may withdraw the service, or any part of it, if we can no longer run it.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do. Carrying on after that means you accept the new version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict of law rules. The courts of Nova Scotia have jurisdiction over any dispute, though we would much rather you emailed us first.
